Traffic Alert: Oceanside Strand Closed Due To Hazardous Conditions
UPDATE: Strand re-opened 2/23/23 at 11 am. Oceanside Police closed The Strand on Wednesday after weather caused hazardous road conditions.

OCEANSIDE, CA — The Oceanside Police closed The Strand just before 1:00 PM on Wednesday due to hazardous road conditions from the winter storm that has also knocked down trees and caused power outages throughout the region.
"Road closures are in effect for The Strand N and The Strand S from Breakwater Way to Wisconsin Avenue. The road will only be accessible to residents at this time."
Public Works personnel are working in the area and OPD requests that the public avoid the area until the work is completed. There was no timeline given for when The Strand would re-open.

UPDATE: As of February 23 at 10:55 am, road access for The Strand N and The Strand S from Breakwater Way to Wisconsin Avenue is now open. Public Works personnel will continuously evaluate weather conditions to determine if future closures are needed.
