What To Do For Memorial Day Weekend 2024 In Oceanside-Camp Pendleton

Falling on the last Monday of May each year, Memorial Day honors those who lost their lives while serving in the military. It's a federal holiday that many people get off from work, resulting in a three-day weekend.

This year, Memorial Day falls on May 27, and for many, this holiday weekend marks the unofficial start of summer. We've rounded up some things to do Memorial Day Weekend in and around Oceanside-Camp Pendleton. Please note: We recommend calling ahead to confirm the hours and access before you head out the door.

Memorial Day Armed Forces HTM Week Event

When: Friday, May 24 - 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 25 - 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Where: Day 1: Veterans Association of North County, 1617 Mission Avenue, Oceanside, CA 92058; Day 2: Del Mar Beach & Marina, 12th Street, Oceanside, CA 92058
What: Commemorate Memorial Day and celebrate HTM Week with two days of networking and festivities. On Friday, participate in professional development and meet-and-greet sessions at the Veterans Association of North County. Then, return for day two at Del Mar Beach for a community celebration with fun activities and fresh tacos. All active duty personnel, veterans and community HTM members are welcome.

Rooftop Yoga

When: Sunday, May 26 - 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Where: Cococabana, 408 Pier View Way Suite 401, Oceanside, CA 92054
What: Start your Memorial Day Weekend with a morning of wellness and relaxation at Cococabana's Rooftop Yoga. This class welcomes all skill levels, combining muscle-toning exercises with energizing stretches against the breathtaking backdrop of Oceanside. Don’t forget your water, sunglasses and a mat (if you have one)! Registration is required due to limited space.

Solana Beach Memorial Day Ceremony

When: Monday, May 27 - 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Where: La Colonia Park Veterans Honor Courtyard, 715 Valley Avenue, Solana Beach, CA 92075
What: On Monday, Solana Beach and the VFW Post 5431 will host the annual Memorial Day ceremony to honor those who have sacrificed for our nation. Free and open to the public, the event will feature the Camp Pendleton Young Marines as honor guard, music by the Santa Fe Christian School Band, a dove release and historical tours of Solana Beach.

Welk Resorts Certified Farmers Market

When: Monday, May 27 - 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Where: 8860 Lawrence Welk Drive, Escondido, CA 92026
What: Wrap up Memorial Day with a visit to the Welk Resorts Certified Farmers Market in nearby Escondido. Explore a variety of fresh produce and local support farmers and artisans while enjoying the community spirit.
