City of Oceanside:
The public is invited to meet over twenty published local authors at the third “Write On, Oceanside!” Literary Fair at the Civic Center Library Plaza and Courtyard (330 N. Coast Hwy) on Saturday, July 20, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Authors from a wide variety of genres will be on hand to discuss, sign and sell their works, as well as pose for photographs with fans. Children’s book authors will be located in the Courtyard where stories and crafts will be presented.
This year, in celebration of Oceanside’s 125 year anniversary, everyone is invited to contribute a word, sentence or paragraph about the past, present, or future of the city to the “Never-ending Story of Oceanside.” Another unique activity at the Write On chalkboard will be for participants to try their hand at protologism and create a new word or phrase to describe Oceanside. Aspiring authors are encouraged to attend the workshop, “Publish Don’t Perish: an Introduction to Self-Publishing” before the fair at 11:00 a.m. in the Civic Center Library Community Rooms.
