An ammonia leak was safely contained in Orange County Sunday, authorities said.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — An ammonia leak was safely contained in Orange County Sunday, authorities said.

Firefighters were dispatched at 7:25 a.m. Sunday to the 6500 block of Caballero Boulevard, a couple blocks west of Knott Avenue, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.

Evacuations and "shelter in place" warnings were in effect at some nearby locations.

"Our Hazardous Materials Response Team responded," the fire department added. "Our HazMat firefighters entered the building, safely mitigated the leak, and searched the building. Nobody was injured."
