Anaheim Police Investigating Homicide After Man's Body Found In Car

The Anaheim Police Department said someone reported hearing screaming from a parked car on Sunday morning.

ANAHEIM, CA — A man was detained Sunday morning in connection to a body found in a car in Anaheim, police said.

The detained man's name was not immediately released. The Anaheim Police Department declined to identify the man whose body was found in the car pending notification of their family.

Anaheim Police Sgt. Shane Carringer said officers responded to the 1500 block of West Ball Road around 8:39 a.m. on Sunday regarding a person screaming from a parked car. The officers were able to find the car and detained a man who exited it without incident.

Officers found the body of a man in the car who recently died and had signs of trauma, Carringer said.

Carringer said no additional suspects are being sought in the man's death, and there is "no ongoing threat to public safety."
