Antisemitic Incidents Rose In Orange County In 2021: Report

The Anti-Defamation League found that Orange County experienced a sharp spike in the number of hate incidents targeting Jewish people.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — The Anti-Defamation League released an audit in April that found hate incidents targeting Jewish people in Orange County and Long Beach nearly doubled in 2021 compared to the previous year, the Voice of OC reported.

The organization counted 62 separate hate incidents in 2021, including antisemitic fliers left in neighborhoods and Jewish schools and graves vandalized with swastikas.

The sharp rise in hate incidents has compelled the Jewish Federation of Orange County, the Anti-Defamation League and the OC Human Relations Commission to hold a summit this August on how to combat the rising antisemitism in the area, the Voice of OC reported.
