The Anaheim Police Department has not released the identity of the person found in the basin or determined how they died.
ANAHEIM, CA — Detectives are working to find the identity of a person found dead in an Anaheim water basin early Sunday evening and how they died.
The body was found near Placentia and Oranethorpe avenues around 5:36 p.m., Sgt. Shane Carringer, an Anaheim Police Department spokesman, said. Personnel from Anaheim Fire and Rescue recovered the body from the basin, and the death is under investigation by Anaheim police homicide detectives.
It's unknown how long the body was in the water, and detectives will determine if the death is related to a "homicide or other circumstances," Carringer said.
