Orange County has instructed emergency dispatchers and paramedics to stop routing stroke patients to a local hospital.
ORANGE COUNTY, CA — The County of Orange has instructed emergency dispatchers and paramedics to stop routing stroke patients to a local hospital following complaints and state findings of substandard care inside the hospital building, The Orange County Register reported.
The county's Emergency Medical Services indefinitely suspended Orange County Global Medical Center as one of the nine medical facilities allowed by the county as a "stroke neurology receiving center."
The suspension becomes effective at 7 a.m. Friday, according to the report.
