Disneyland Genie+ Service Changing In July: What To Know When You Go
Fans of the Genie+ attraction reservation service will see updates starting July 24. Here's what Disneyland guests can expect with the App.

ANAHEIM, CA—Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom Resort announced this week that they are implementing a few changes to the Genie+ line reservation service in July.
While the Magic Kingdom is tinkering with the names and services the add-on feature provides, the service at Disneyland Resort receives only minor name changes, according to Eric Scott, Senior Communications Manager.
"We enjoy hearing from guests about all the things they love, as well as how we can make their experience even better the next time," he wrote. "At Walt Disney World, guests have told us they would prefer to have the option to do more of their planning before their theme park day."

The changes at the Magic Kingdom will mostly reflect how guests can plan their theme park day before arriving in other parks.
"Beginning July 24, 2024, Lightning Lane Multi Pass will be the new name for Disney Genie+ service, and Lightning Lane Single Pass will be the new name for individual Lightning Lane entrance access," according to the resort.

The name changes will be reflected on this website, the Disneyland mobile app, and on the Disneyland Resort's property.
At Disneyland, only minor Genie+ name changes will be implemented. According to Scott, the service will otherwise remain the same—for now. If successful, the changes implemented may be added to Disneyland in the future. No timeline for that has yet been released.
"Based on the different ways we know guests visit Disneyland Resort, the way guests purchase, select, and redeem Lightning Lane passes at Disneyland Resort will remain the same," he said.
The complimentary features of the Disney Genie service will continue to be available in the My Disney Experience and Disneyland apps.
"As you may have noticed, both apps have also gotten a series of upgrades over the last year to make features easier to use, including making dining reservations, mobile food ordering, and more," he said. "We deeply value the trust families place in Disney to create lasting memories, and that is why we are dedicated to making updates that improve and simplify their experience."
