Disneyland Instagram Hacked: Shares Racist, Homophobic Slurs, Phrases

ANAHEIM, CA — A self-proclaimed "super hacker" took control of Disneyland's social media accounts and shared racist posts Thursday morning.

In photos of the hacker's posts obtained by news outlets, the hacker said he sought to "bring revenge" upon the famed children's park after staffers supposedly mocked him.

The posts, which began around 3:50 a.m. Thursday, contained racist and homophobic slurs and phrases.

Disneyland in Anaheim has 8.4 million Instagram followers. The account was briefly taken down, and has since been reactivated with the hacker's posts removed.

Disney said in a statement to media outlets that it's Facebook and Instagram accounts were "compromised."

"We worked quickly to remove the reprehensible content, secure our accounts, and our security teams are conducting an investigation," the company said.
