Disneyland Resort Holidays Are Happening! When To See Halloween, Christmas Decorations Resort-Wide

We love the seasons of Disneyland. Take a sneak peek of what's coming across Downtown Disney and the Disneyland Resort.

ANAHEIM, CA — Disneyland is preparing to transform into a magical holiday getaway, and on Nov. 14, the resort announced a return to the "Holidays at the Disneyland Resort."

Yes, Christmas is coming, but first, let's discuss Halloweentime at the Disneyland Resort.

If you plan to visit for Halloween decorations, merchandise, and the Oogie Boogie Bash (a separate, ticketed event) schedule your visit for August 22 through October 31, 2025. If you want to see Christmas at the resort, be sure to visit between Nov. 14 and Jan. 7, according to the resort. (Scroll down to see what's new for the Christmas Holiday season at the park!)

"At this separate ticketed event, the park transforms into a family-friendly, frightfully fun after-hours event filled with tricks and treats! Enjoy 5 hours of mischievous fun—including special Halloween-themed entertainment, immersive treat trails, spellbinding attractions and more."

When you go for Halloween, look for the carved pumpkins along Main Street U.S.A. Enjoy the frightful fun of Disney California Adventure, where something ghoulish has happened to all of the rides and characters at the Avengers Campus and Cars Land Radiator Springs venues, and beyond. When the sun sets, the park gets even more magical with villains and spooky fun.

Halloween fun will be swept away on November 1, and guests may catch a glimpse of Christmas before the opening day, but nothing is guaranteed.

Guests who plan their visit can arrive in time to experience the Christmas amid Holidays at the Disneyland Resort, at the park's 70th Celebration, will see both according to park spokesperson Jessica Pineda.

"During the holiday season, some Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration entertainment will continue to sparkle, so we hope you’ll celebrate the happiness we make together all season long. And you better not pout — Santa often stops around the resort to listen to your Christmas wishes, making appearances at both theme parks and the three Hotels of the Disneyland Resort," Pineda shared in a recent news release.

What you can expect this Christmas Season at Disneyland Resort:

While you stroll around the park, expect to see Mickey Mouse, Minney Mouse, Goofy, and the gang wearing holiday-themed attire at character meet and greets or at parades.

"It's a holiday spin on their 70th Anniversary costumes, in shimmering greens, reds, and golds, with 70th nods throughout," she said.

There will be "snowfall" drifts and icicles each night along the Sleeping Beauty Winter Castle as it falls under a "winter enchantment," she said. A total of 80,000 shimmering lights transform the castle's exterior into a sparkling wonderland.

Guests who pause to rest their feet and watch the parade will get another magical experience.

"A Christmas Fantasy Parade" will showcase the characters, toy soldiers, and dancing gingerbread cookies. Watch from the sidewalks of Main Street, U.S.A. Or, head to "it's a small world" for more holiday lights and interior decor as the children of the world share their tune.

More holiday decorations will be in place during the Haunted Mansion Holiday, a "merrily macabre" event.

Inside the Fantasyland Theatre, find "Holiday Fun with Santa and Friends," where guests can make crafts, engage in sing alongs, and have magical photo opportunities. Plus, a visit from Santa!

At Disney California Adventure Park, the transition to Christmas is complete across the park. At Radiator Springs in Cars Land, you'll find updated rides, including Mater's Jingle Jamboree and others. Enjoy a special treat at the Cozy Cone, like Jerry's Junk Truck Cone from the motel.

The Festival of Holidays will continue to bring culture and cheer, featuring the Festive Food Marketplace, where guests can purchase a Sip and Savor Pass to sample their way through multiple holiday treats and drinks.

Look for Mirabel's Gifts of the Season, a street performance from the world of "Encanto." Also, look out for the Mariachis and Miguel from "Coco" in their holiday attire.

Finally, the hotels of the Disneyland Resort will feature chargers, a carol feast, and pajama parties, along with a chance to have Holiday Tea with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Grand Californian Hotel. Or, just relax under one of the many decorated trees throughout the park.
