Drug Take Back Day To Be Held In Orange County: Save The Date

The drive will be held for residents to anonymously drop off prescription medication on Saturday, Oct. 26.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Do you have unused, old or expired prescription medication taking up space in your medicine cabinet?

The Drug Enforcement Administration is hosting a recycling event Saturday, Oct. 26 in commemoration of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, and residents are encouraged to stop by and dispose of their unused medication.

The city, along with the Orange County Sheriff's Department, host this event twice a year. It is designed to be a safe, convenient and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs, the Orange County Sheriff's Department said in a statement.

While unused or expired prescriptions will be accepted, the city will not take sharp objects, marijuana, liquids or pressure canisters.

All National Drug Day events take place on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
