DUI Driver Strikes, Kills 66-Year-Old Man In OC: Police
A 66-year-old man died from his injuries this week after he was struck by a DUI driver in Santa Ana, police said Thursday.

SANTA ANA, CA — A 66-year-old man has died after he was struck by a DUI driver in Santa Ana, authorities said Thursday.
The crash was reported Wednesday night near Bristol Street and Segerstrom Avenue, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
Upon arrival, police found a 66-year-old pedestrian suffering from injuries and a vehicle.

The victim, identified as John Valenzuela Luera, of Santa Ana, was pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital.
"Based on witness statements, John was seen walking in traffic lanes on Bristol St. when a vehicle struck him," an SAPD statement read. "The driver remained at the scene, cooperated with the investigation, and was ultimately arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs."

The suspect was not identified by police.
