E-Bike Crash Critically Injures 19-Year-Old In OC

The crash was reported on Sept. 9 at around 8:43 p.m. in the City of Orange.

ORANGE, CA — A 19-year-old e-bike rider was critically injured in a traffic crash on Tuesday, Sept. 9, authorities said.

The crash was reported near the intersection of Lewis Street and El Prado Avenue in Orange. The e-bike rider, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The crash prompted authorities to close Lewis Street in both directions from Lampson Avenue to El Rancho Avenue for six hours.

The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and cooperated with police, authorities said. Neither drugs nor alcohol appeared to be a factor in the crash.
