ORANGE COUNTY, CA — The Federal Bureau of Investigation is asking the public's help in finding a man suspected of robbing at least eight banks across Orange County.

Called the "Black & White Sneaker Bandit," the man is wanted for bank robberies in Fullerton, Huntington Beach and Costa Mesa, the FBI said on Twitter. The FBI gave him the nickname for the black shoes with white soles he's wearing in surveillance footage from the robberies.

The robberies occurred between October 2021 and this January, the Orange County Register reported.

In each robbery, the bandit would enter the bank with his face covered and hand a note to a teller, demanding cash and claiming he has armed accomplices, the paper reported.

It's unknown how much money the bandit took from each bank or if he had any armed accomplices.

The robberies occurred at the same time as a man dubbed the "Green Gaiter Bandit" was also robbing banks in Orange County. A spokeswoman for the FBI told the Orange County Register that it's unclear if the two suspects were related.

A 55-year-old man was arrested earlier this month in connection to the "Green Gaiter Bandit" robberies.
