Felon Sexually Assaulted Acquaintance While She Was Unconscious, Police Say

ANAHEIM, CA — A convicted felon was charged Monday with sexually assaulting an unconscious woman who he knew as an acquaintance in Anaheim.

John Nathan Yniguez, 36, was charged with sexual penetration of an unconscious victim, oral copulation or an unconscious person an assault with intent to commit a sex offense, all felonies, court records show.

Yniguez did not enter a plea at his arraignment Monday.

He was accused of committing the sexual assault on May 31, police said.

Yniguez pleaded guilty in August 2023 to assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism, both felonies.
