Knott's Berry Farm To Shut Down Montezooma's Revenge: Report
The roller coaster ride will temporarily close for "major renovations," the theme park announced on Tuesday.

BUENA PARK, CA — Thrillseekers will have to go without Montezooma's Revenge at Knott's Berry Farm for at least a year as the theme park announced it was temporarily closing the roller coaster, the Orange County Register reported.
The coaster, which has been operating since 1978, will close on Monday and undergo "major renovations," the theme park announced on Twitter.
"Be sure to catch your last ride before this weekend is over," the company tweeted. "The new Montzeooma's Reven is scheduled to open in 2023."

The roller coaster's renovations were to start in January, but the theme parked delayed its plans after an outcry from fans, the Register reported. Parker goers wanted one last chance to ride the coaster.
It's unknown what renovations will be done to Montezooma's Revenge, but the Register notes the coaster has had several closures in the past.
