LA Angels Prospect Ejected From Crash, Critically Injured: Report
An Angels Minor League outfielder is in critical condition after suffering serious injuries in a crash last week.

ANAHEIM, CA — An Angels Minor League outfielder is in critical condition after suffering serious injuries in a car crash last week in Washington State.
Outfielder Rio Foster, who was recently named the Northwest League Player of the Month with High-A Tri-City on Thursday, was a passenger in the vehicle, according to MLB.com.
"Earlier today, the Angels Organization learned that Rio Foster, a member of our Tri-City affiliate, was a passenger in a serious car accident in Richland, WA," said a statement issued by the Angels on Friday. "Rio is currently receiving medical care at a local hospital and remains in critical condition. We ask that the entire Angels Community joins our organization in keeping Rio and his family in their hearts during this difficult time."

"Rio was ejected from the vehicle and suffers from a traumatic brain injury along with skull and facial fractures and remains in critical condition, although he is stable," a GoFundMe page for Foster read.
"Rio is the most humble, kind and respectful young man and this is the most unfortunate circumstance," the GoFundMe read. "He worked so hard to get to where he is today, and was on fire these past fews weeks."

The Angels selected Foster, 22, in the 16th round of the 2023 MLB draft.
