Bellflower, CA – On Tuesday, Annette Choat received news that she was anxiously awaiting.

“I had my 6 month check up with my oncologist and he said I’m clean, everything looks good.”

While Annette’s view on her health situation got more positive, her view from her home was made clearer quite literally Wednesday. Armando Partida and his team from Fish Window Cleaning of Downey selected Annette to receive a free cleaning service as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“Just about everyone has been touched by or affected by cancer in some way,” Partida said. “We just wanted to brighten Annette’s day especially after going through such a difficult and stressful time. If we can make her day a little special than that’s what makes my team and I happy.”

Diagnosed with breast cancer in July of 2021, the Bellflower resident underwent a double mastectomy. According to the American Cancer Society, more than 43 thousand people will die from the disease this year, while 297,790 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in 2023.

Learning she was cancer-free was a relief, and Annette acknowledged this gesture was a great experience to add to this week.

“She just expressed what a great gesture this was and was happy about the additional natural light that came through after the service,” Partida acknowledged.

Armando and Fish also wanted to use the experience to alert people about the importance of early detection and to remind people to get screened for breast cancer.
