Man Accused of Attacking Santa Ana Police Cleared
The man was among the first arrested in Orange County last summer during protests that erupted following the killing of George Floyd.
ORANGE COUNTY, CA — A 24-year-old man who was among the first arrested in Orange County last summer during the civil unrest that erupted following the killing of George Floyd had his case dropped Thursday.
Prosecutors dismissed two felony counts of assault with a weapon on a peace officer against Ernesto Isaiah Luquin of Orange.
On May 30, 2020, a Santa Ana Unified School District police officer flagged down a police officer to report that someone threw a large rock and a beer bottle at his squad car at Bristol Street and McFadden Avenue while shouting, "(Expletive) the police," police said last year.
