Man Suspected In Triple OC Murders Declared Competent For Trial

The Orange County Register reports that Marvin Magallanes will stand trial in the killing of two homeless men and a jail inmate in 2017.

SANTA ANA, CA — An Anaheim man will now stand trial in a triple-murder case, almost four years after being declared unfit and committed to a mental health facility, the Orange County Register reported.

Marvin Magallanes, 30, will now be tried for the 2017 killings of two homeless men and the fatal strangulation of a jail inmate after being determined to be mentally competent to stand trial, the paper reported. He faces up to life in prison if convicted of the killings.

Magallanes has previously attempted to confess to killing the two homeless men, but a judge previously ruled him unfit to stand trial.
