Mater Dei Athletes Accused Of Sexual Assault In Police Record: Report

SANTA ANA, CA — A football player told the Santa Ana Police Department last August several teammates sexually assaulted him, according to a document obtained by the Los Angeles Times.

The one-page Santa Ana police report obtained by the Times details the alleged Aug. 31 assault involving members of Mater Dei's football team holding down a teammate and exposing their genitals to him. One player "began humping" the teammate from behind while held to the ground, the Times reported.

The player started at Mater Dei that month and left the school sometime last year, according to the Times.

The student didn't report any injuries from the alleged assault but suffered anxiety from the experienced, the report the Times obtained said.
