  1. Orange County honored Black History Month with a parade in Anaheim on Saturday, Feb. 4. It was the Orange County Heritage Council’s 43rd annual Black History Parade and Unity Festival. The tradition started in 1980 by the late Helen M. Shipp in Santa Ana “continue the traditions and culture of African Americans by honoring the achievements and contributions of Black history." (Voice of OC)
  2. The deadliest roads in Orange County will soon be getting an upgrade. The U.S. Department of Transportation will provide $5 billion for roads across the state, with millions of grant dollars going to Laguna Niguel, Laguna Beach, Seal Beach and Costa Mesa, to make OC's most dangerous roads safer for drivers and pedestrians. (Patch)
  3. A section of the Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach is now the "Officer Nicholas Vella Memorial Highway," to honor the Huntington Beach police officer who died in a helicopter crash responding to a call on Feb. 19, 2022, in Newport Beach. (Orange County Fire Authority via Facebook)
