Orange County Gas Hits Lowest Price Since March
Orange County drivers saw continued relief at the pump just in time for Thanksgiving travel.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — The average price for a regular gallon of gas in Orange County hit $5.096 Friday, the lowest it's been since March 3.
Friday marked the 45th time the average price of regular gas dropped in 51 days. Thursday's price was $5.060, according to AAA. Over just a month, the price of gas in Orange County has dropped nearly 60 cents.
Neighboring Los Angeles County hit $5.165 Friday, the lowest it's been since March 4, having dropped 48 times in 51 days. Los Angeles sat just above the statewide average of $5.096.

The national average price dropped for the 16th consecutive day, decreasing eight-tenths of a cent to $3.578. It is 12.9 cents less than one week ago and 19.7 cents lower than one month ago, but 18.1 cents more than one year ago.
National gas prices dropped just in time for Thanksgiving travel, though this year was still the highest Thanksgiving national average price since at least 2000, according to AAA.

“The national average has fallen sharply since the June peak of nearly $5.02,” AAA spokesperson Andrew Gross said in a statement. “But this Thanksgiving will be about 20 cents higher than a year ago, and a dollar more per gallon than a pre-pandemic 2019. However, we can be thankful that gas prices are moving in the right direction for now.”
Data from the Energy Information Administration showed that gas demand fell last week, according to AAA.
