Pedestrian Struck, Killed On 5 Freeway Tuesday: SigAlert
The pedestrian was reported hit by a white pick-up truck at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday afternoon traveling through north Orange County.
ANAHEIM, CA — A pedestrian who was apparently walking across freeway lanes during rush hour traffic was reported dead by the California Highway Patrol Tuesday afternoon.
The crash was reported at 4:05 p.m. on the 5 Freeway traveling south near Magnolia Avenue in Anaheim, the California Highway Patrol reported. Initial reports stated that a man was either walking or jogging on the freeway near the HOV lane when he was struck by a white pick-up truck.
The identity of the deceased man is not yet known, pending next-of-kin notifications. The circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation, authorities said.

The crash triggered the California Highway Patrol to shut down several lanes on the freeway issue a SigAlert at 4:30 p.m. As of 4:43 p.m., traffic was slowed for at least five miles as a result of the collision.
Residents were urged to avoid the area.
