Here are the top stories today in Orange County:

  1. Four Orange County cities made the "Safest Places To Live In California" list. A study by Moving Waldo said four OC cities have "the best quality of life." Rancho Santa Margarita took the number one spot as the safest place to live in California. Aliso Viejo and Yorba Linda took the number six and seven spot respectively, and San Juan Capistrano was listed as the ninth safest city in California. See the full list here: (Orange County Patch)
  2. Police chased a driver at speeds of up to 120 m.p.h. Thursday afternoon. It all started around 4:30 p.m. at Seal Beach when a driver "blew through" red lights and sped through intersections during rush-hour traffic. The harrowing chase careened through Newport Beach before the reckless driver was finally stopped in Costa Mesa. (KTLA)
  3. A rare white Risso's dolphin spotted off Dana Point last weekend was a "show stopper." The rare dolphin was observed in a large nursery pod of more than 30 Risso's dolphins on an eight-hour Ultimate Whale Watch tour by Dana Wharf Sportfishing and Whale Watching. See the white dolphin named "Blanco" here: (Patch)
  4. Huntington Beach is on edge after a pit bull attacked a woman walking her dog Wednesday. Lyling Irwin turned a corner with her spaniel mix, Betty, when a loose pit bull knocked her to the ground, shattering her cell phone and knocking off her eyeglasses. Her dog "was crying for help" during the brutal attack. Irwin "managed to pry the pit bull off" her dog, but Betty suffered severe injuries that required surgery. Find out more here: (ABC7)
