SigAlert: 405 Freeway Reopens After Car Fire

The fire occurred Tuesday morning, backing up rush hour traffic on the southbound side of the freeway, according to police.

IRVINE, CA — A SigAlert was issued Tuesday morning for a car fire on the San Diego (405) Freeway in Orange County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fire occurred on the southbound interstate in the area of University Drive in Irvine, backing up traffic for miles.

The SigAlert was issued around 7 a.m. and lifted just under an hour later, according to police.
