1. Ice fishing igloos “are popping up around Orange County.” Canvas igloos were set up last week to shelter the unhoused as Orange County experienced "record-low temperatures." Michael Sean Wright, the chief of field operations with the nonprofit Wound Walk, said, the canvas tents were set up "just in time for more than two dozen people" who had signs of hypothermia on Saturday in Westminster. 2. An Orange County man "stranded in several feet of snow in the Cajon Pass" was able to get help after he crafted "makeshift snow shoes." Brandon Henson was offroading alone at the base of the Cajon Pass when his SUV became stuck for twelve hours in deep snow. (Patch)
3. Have you seen this man? A Silver Alert has been issued for 72-year-old Elutero Bustosfrom of La Habra. The California Highway Patrol reported he was last seen on "Thursday at around 7 a.m. on North Euclid Street and Stevens Avenue." See his photo and find out more here: (Orange County Patch)
4. If you're looking for top-rated hospitals, four SoCal Providence hospitals "were named among Newsweek's World's Best Hospitals 2023." Three of the Providence hospitals were in Orange County, including Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, Providence Mission Hospital in Laguna Beach and Providence St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton. 5. It snowed briefly in Disneyland on Wednesday! Technically, it was graupel, which NOAA describes "as soft small pellets that form when supercooled water droplets freeze into a snow crystal." (Orange County Patch)
