UPDATE: Suspect In Brutal Orange County Beating Cases Arrested

ORANGE COUNTY, CA -- A suspect is behind bars in connection with the vicious beating of a 65-year-old man at a Buena Park bus stop that was captured on a bus-mounted surveillance camera.

On Friday morning, police announced that a suspect -- 33-year-old Kenneth Heimlich -- had been arrested by Fullerton police in connection with a similar attack in that city. Details of that alleged assault were not immediately released.

The victim in the Buena Park attack was taken to a hospital in critical condition and has yet to regain consciousness, police said.

The Buena Park attack occurred about 8:15 a.m. Wednesday at the bus top at Beach Boulevard and Orangethorpe Avenue, where the victim was left unconscious, according to the Buena Park Police Department. Witnesses told officers the victim and another man got into a shouting match, then the suspect pushed the victim to the ground and proceeded to kick and stomp the victim in the head before taking the victim's bike and riding away eastbound on Orangethorpe Avenue, police said.

Video of the beating was captured by the dashboard camera of an Orange County Transportation Authority bus. Buena Park police released the graphic surveillance video in hopes of generating tips.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA -- Police is asking for the public's help in identifying the person who inflicted serious head injuries on a 65-year-old man Friday morning at a Buena Park bus stop.

Buena Park Police officers responded to a bus stop at Beach Boulevard and Orangethorpe Avenue about 8:15 a.m. Wednesday and found the victim unconscious, according to the Department.

Witnesses told officers the victim and another man got into a shouting match, then the suspect pushed the victim to the ground, then kicked and stomped the victim in the head before taking the victim's bike and riding away eastbound on Orangethorpe Avenue.

The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition and has yet to regain consciousness, the BPPD said early today.

The suspect was described as white, 25 to 35 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a large build and light hair in a bun. He has some facial hair and wears glasses and was wearing a green and gray sports jacket with ``Converse'' on the front and the number ``8'' on the back, police said.
