Woman Held Captive, Tortured For Months Escapes: Police
An Inland Empire man was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, rape and torture after a standoff with authorities in Orange County.
PLACENTIA, CA — A Chino Hills man suspected of kidnapping, torturing, raping and holding a woman against her will for several months was charged with several sex crimes following his arrest in Orange County on Saturday, the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office said.
The victim, a 22-year-old woman, was held in a house in Chino Hills, where she was raped and tortured before escaping, the sheriff's department said. Her condition was not known.
Peter Anthony McGuire, 59, was charged with torture, kidnapping to commit another crime, kidnapping, mayhem, assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment by violence, forcible rape, sodomy by use of force, forcible oral copulation, the district attorney's office said.

He also faces special allegations that he inflicted great bodily injury by cutting off a limb and administered a controlled substance during the commission of a sex crime, the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office said.
McGuire pleaded not guilty to the charges Monday and was being held without bail at the West Valley Detention Center, according to jail records from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. He was due back in court Thursday.

McGuire was arrested after barricading himself in a house in Placentia, the sheriff's department said.
The victim escaped from McGuire's house in the 16200 block of Cordovan Court in Chino Hills around 7:20 p.m. Thursday, sheriff's department spokesperson Mara Rodriguez said.
The woman reportedly lived at the house before deciding to move out six months ago, but McGuire did not allow her to leave, Rodriguez said. The woman told deputies McGuire held her against her will for several months and raped and tortured her, the sheriff's department said.
The woman had "visible injuries consistent with the allegations made" and was taken to a hospital, the sheriff's department said.
McGuire left his house before sheriff's deputies arrived to serve a search warrant, authorities said.
The sheriff's department found McGuire at a house in Placentia, where he barricaded himself and refused to leave, authorities said. He eventually surrendered and was taken into custody.
