Fire Damages Home, Displaces 6 Residents In SMC: Fire Officials

The cause of the fire that displaced the residents from their two story home is under investigation, officials said.

DALY CITY, CA — Six residents were displaced from their home on Tuesday afternoon after a fire caused severe damage to a two-story home in Daly City, according to North County Fire Authority.

At around 3:11 p.m. fire crews responded to a house fire at 650 St. Francis Blvd. Heavy smoke and flames were coming from the backyard of the single-family home when the first units arrived on the scene.

Firefighters rapidly put out the flames and thoroughly searched the home to confirm that all occupants had evacuated safely, according to officials.

Crews stayed on site for about three hours after the fire was out to check for any hidden flames and secure the property. The fire caused extensive interior and exterior damage to the structure, officials said.

No one was injured during the incident, fire fighters said.

According to the fire authority, the American Red Cross is providing temporary housing assistance to the six residents who were displaced.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
