PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — With at least 5,000 structures destroyed, the Palisades Fire has wreaked absolute destruction on Pacific Palisades and the surrounding area. But as evacuation orders remain in place, many residents have been unable to get confirmation whether their homes remain standing.

Now, a 30-minute video released Thursday by KCAL could help.

The video, shot from the air by the station's helicopter, pans slowly over the fire area and includes a map overlay that indicates street names, house numbers and major landmarks.

A recent aerial survey by fire officials of the damage revealed that an estimated 5,316 buildings have been destroyed in the blaze, which includes residential and commercial properties, as well as minor buildings like sheds, according to Cal Fire.
