Brush Fire Burns 9 Acres In Pacific Palisades

The brush fire burned for several hours before firefighters stopped forward progress.

PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — It took firefighters several hours to stop forward progress of a brush fire that burned about 9 acres in Pacific Palisades on New Year's Day.

Firefighters responded to the area of Via Las Palmas near Via La Costa just after noon where they encountered a 3-4 acre fire burning amid 15 mph winds, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

LAFD helicopters, as well as ones from the Los Angeles County Fire Department, made water drops on the fire.

The county fire department also sent four camp crews to the scene and firefighters coordinated directly with residents of the affected homes, according to the LAFD.

No damaged structures or injuries were reported.
