PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — As the neighborhood continues to rebuild after the devastating Palisades Fire, developer Rick Caruso this week outlined a timeline for the reopening of his Palisades Village shopping center.

The retail center will reopen in mid-2026, Caruso said, as part of an announcement that also included the revelation that longtime Palisades favorite Elyse Walker will house her flagship store in the Village.

The former Elyse Walker boutique, located across the street from the Village, was destroyed in the fire. The Village itself remains standing surrounded by devastation, thanks in part to Caruso's reliance on private firefighters to protect his property.

“I hope that this serves as the catalyst for other retailers and brands and big businesses and small businesses to come back to the Palisades, Malibu, Altadena and Pasadena,” Walker said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. “Twenty-five years ago, we planted seeds in this community, and now we are doing it again.”

Caruso told The Times that he plans to resume the Palisades Village annual Christmas tree and menorah lighting this year, ahead of the center's full reopening, and will underwrite the cost of new landscaping and sidewalks in the streets around the Village.
