PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — The Sunset Boulevard Wells Fargo branch is planning to reopen Wednesday, two months after it shut down due to the Palisades Fire.

The branch, located at 15240 W. Sunset Blvd., will reopen with in-house experts that can help with FEMA applications, destroyed document recovery, insurance claims and more services meant to serve those recovering from the Palisades Fire, according to the company.

“We are glad that we are able to open the doors and service our local customers,” Alice Juarez, a Wells Fargo Los Angeles-region executive, told Patch in an email. "Although we’ve been able to serve our Pacific Palisades customers out of our nearby Santa Monica branches, we are incredibly pleased to fully re-open our Pacific Palisades branch.”

Wells Fargo says the reopening will make it the first major financial institution in the area to reopen after the fire. The bank is removing surcharges normally charged to non-Wells Fargo customers at 15 of its ATMs in the area.

The company has been active in fire-related philanthropy. It made a $500,000 contribution to the LA Region Small Business and Worker Relief Funds, partnered with Together for LA to provide resources to impacted small business owners and workers and its employees volunteered at the LA Food Bank and at the Los Angeles Coliseum to make care packages for those impacted, according to a company representative.
