A woman involved in a traffic crash in Palm Desert late Sunday was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, a sheriff's sergeant said.
The crash was reported at 10:42 p.m. May 19 in the 100 block of Courtside Drive, Sgt. Patrick Carroll of the Palm Desert Station said in a statement.
"A Pontiac Grand Am was traveling west on Courtside Drive and failed to negotiate the ninety degree turn as Courtside Drive continued," Carroll said. "The vehicle struck the retaining wall and came to rest in the middle of the street."
The driver and a passenger in the Pontiac sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital, Carroll said.
The Pontiac driver, identified as Kelsey Blackshaw, 25, of Palm Desert, was arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired by alcohol, Carroll said. She was taken to the Indio Jail and booked.
