PALO ALTO, CA — A Gunn High School student made what was likely a hoax call to police about another student threatening to shoot them on Thursday afternoon, according to the Palo Alto Police Department.

Officers responded to the high school at around 3:25 p.m. and determined by 4 p.m. that the threat was not credible, according to a news release. No gun was seen.

Students and staff remained inside the school during the police investigation as a precautionary measure, according to police.
