Phantom Commercial Burglar Sought After By Palo Alto Police
The suspect wearing a Phantom of the Opera mask hit four commercial establishments Wednesday, smashing windows and stealing cash registers.
PALO ALTO, CA -- Police hope finding a masked suspect that hit four businesses early Wednesday isn't a phantom in the community.
Palo Alto detectives need your help in locating the man shown here. He is described as a black male, with a medium build, average height and some facial hair.
An alarm at the Vino Vino Wine business on the 400 block of California Avenue sounded for the first burglary. Another occurred on the same block at Subway. A passerby called in with a report of a window smashed at the Simple Be Salon on the 500 block of University Avenue. The next burglary happened at the Sushi House on the 800 block of El Camino Real.

It's believed the crimes occurred between 2 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
The suspect was captured on security cameras with and without the mask that's based on the Broadway play.
