2 Free Summer Concerts Coming To Rancho Palos Verdes

"You won't be able to resist the wave of nostalgia," Rancho Palos Verdes officials said.

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA — Rancho Palos Verdes officials have announced two upcoming summer concerts featuring 90s pop to oldies and classic rock sets.

The "Summer Concerts in the Park" event will feature the band As If! on Saturday, July 26 and the Smokin' Cobras on Saturday, Aug. 23. Both events will take place at the Ken Dyda Civic Center located at 30940 Hawthorne Blvd, from 4 to 6 p.m.

As If! will be performing "the vibrant sounds of 90s pop, rock and more" during their concert, according to city officials.

It’s finally that time — time to dig out your old, wrinkled flare jeans and baby tops — and don’t forget your bucket hat!" Rancho Palos Verdes said in an administrative report Wednesday. " You won’t be able to resist the wave of nostalgia as you rock it in plaid jackets or skirts—or maybe even both."

The Smokin' Cobras, meanwhile, will be performing oldies and classic rock hits.

Aside from musical performances, there will be music-themed giveaways, food trucks, beer and a wine booth, city officials said. For kids, there will be games, inflatables and crafts.

"Dance the afternoon away and be sure not to miss out on this exciting family

event!" City officials said.
