2 Palos Verdes Schools Among the Best Private High School in the State

One is ranked among the top in the nation.

PALOS VERDES, CA — Two Palos Verdes Peninsula area private high schools are among the top private high schools in the state, with one being considered among the best in the nation, according to an education website's recently released 2017 Best Private High Schools in America.

Niche.com has come out with its 2017 rankings of the top 100 private high schools in America as well as the top 100 private high schools in California. Chadwick School was named the 22nd best high school in the state and the 88th best in America while Rolling Hills Prep School was among the top 100 in the este.

In all, 23 California schools made the list of the 100 best private high schools in the United States (see list below).

Out of the Golden State's top 100 schools ranked by the site, the majority were near the San Francisco or Los Angeles metro areas.

Though private school students may not have to take the same standardized tests as public schools, there are evaluators such as Niche.com that pay attention to the performance of these students on college board tests and other standards to provide guidance to parents looking for the best education for their children.

The rankings are "based on rigorous analysis of data from the U.S. Department of Education along with test scores, college data, and ratings collected from millions of Niche users," according to Niche.com. (Still skeptical? You can pick apart the site's full methodology here.)
