Alert South Bay In Palos Verdes: How To Sign Up
The alert and warning notification system is up and running in 13 South Bay cities. Here's how to sign up to receive notifications.
PALOS VERDES, CA — The Cities of Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates and Rolling Hills are among the 13 South Bay cities that have established an alert and warning notification system called Alert South Bay, which residents can now sign up for to receive notifications about their communities.
The emergency notification system, which is part of an "integrated, interoperable regional platform," will keep communities informed about disasters and emergencies via texts, email, phone, landline and more, the Alert South Bay press release said.
The notification system gives police, fire and emergency management agencies from 13 South Bay Cities the ability to deliver critical notifications to their communities.

The Alert SouthBay notification system replaces all existing notification systems, including NIXLE, used by the following cities:
- Inglewood
- El Segundo
- Manhattan Beach
- Hermosa Beach
- Redondo Beach
- Palos Verdes Estates
- Rancho Palos Verdes
- Rolling Hills Estates
- Rolling Hills
- Torrance
- Gardena
- Hawthorne
- Lomita
Residents must register in the Alert SouthBay regional portal to receive alerts. To receive alerts, text ALERTSB to 888777, visit the Everbridge website, or download the Everbridge App from the app store.
