Nearly 1,700 Without Power In Palos Verdes

PALOS VERDES, CA — Nearly 1,700 Southern California Edison customers will be without power in Palos Verdes Estates until Monday afternoon as crews perform maintenance work in the area.

Crews began the maintenance work near Palos Verdes Drive West and Via Margate around 9:30 a.m. They are expected to finish by 6 p.m., according to Southern California Edison.

It's possible that power can be returned earlier or later, depending on the extent of the work the crew has to perform, an SCE spokesperson told Patch.

Maintenance outages are required to allow crews to safely perform upgrades to electrical equipment, whether it's power lines or other infrastructure, according to SCE.

SCE customers are notified of the upgrades at least three days in advance and on the day of the scheduled maintenance.
