Palos Verdes Crime: 200 Partying Juveniles

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and Palos Verdes Estates Police Department supplied this information on crime in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates, Rolling Hills, Westfield and Palos Verdes Estates.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lomita Station reported the following crimes and arrests in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates and Westfield for the week spanning March 17 through Saturday. The Palos Verdes Estates Police Department reported the following crimes and arrests in Palos Verdes Estates for the week spanning March 19 through last Monday.

Palos Verdes Estates

One person was arrested on an outstanding warrant and two individuals were arrested on suspicion of driving without a license.

March 22, 10:14 p.m.; 1400 block of Via Arco
Officers responding to a report of a disturbance discovered approximately 200 juveniles drinking or loitering on the street without the homeowner's permission.

March 19, 8:53 a.m.; Rancho Palos Verdes
Officers were dispatched to Rancho Palos Verdes to pick up a person on an outstanding misdemeanor PVEPD warrant.

Mail Theft

March 19, 5 p.m.; 2100 block of Acalones
Someone parked in front of a residence, removed mail from the victim's mailbox and then drove away.

Traffic Offense

March 20, 11:28 a.m.; 1200 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
During a traffic stop, officers arrested the driver on suspicion of driving with a suspended license.

March 25, 2:39 a.m.; 200 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
Officers arrested a driver of a vehicle on suspicion of driving without a license and no proof of insurance.

Theft

March 20; 1700 block of Via Coronel
Sometime between March 11 and March 13, someone took items from a victim while helping the victim move personal items to a storage unit over a three day period.

Identity Theft

March 21; Riverside California
Someone forged a victim's signature to complete a cash withdrawal without the victim's knowledge or consent.

Residential Burglary

March 21; 2800 block of Via Campesina
Someone forced their way into a residence and removed property without the victim's knowledge or consent.

Vandalism

March 22; 2200 block of Via Pacheco
Someone used what appeared to be a thick black permanent marker to vandalize a gate and then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

March 25; Punta Place
An unknown person or persons used spray paint to vandalize the communications tower door at Punta Point before fleeing in a dark Toyota 4Runner as seen in a surveillance video.

Suspicious Person

March 22, 3:08 p.m.; 2800 block of Via Campesina
Police officers were flagged down by a resident who indicated that an unknown person attempted to enter his/her residence without consent and then fled in an unknown direction.

Vehicle Theft

March 23; 700 block of Via Del Monte
Sometime between 10 a.m. and 3:40 p.m., someone broke the front passenger window of a parked vehicle and took a cell phone and cell phone charger. 

March 23; 300 block of Paseo Del Mar
Someone broke the front passenger side window of a vehicle and removed a coin purse.

March 23; 600 block of Paseo Del Mar
Sometime between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 11:35 a.m., an unknown person broke the front passenger side window of a parked vehicle and took a wallet and purse.

March 23; 2000 block of Via Cerritos
Someone broke the front passenger side window of a vehicle and took currency.

Rancho Palos Verdes

One person was arrested on suspicion of carrying a knife on school grounds and another individual was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct.

Petty Theft

Oct. 30-Nov. 1; 2700 block of Coral Ridge Road
It was reported that someone took a Joyce Boyce women's necklace and ring.

March 20-21; 28600 block of Mt. Rushmore
An unknown person or persons too a De Longhi electric heater.

March 18-19; 27500 block of Fawnskin Drive
Someone took a Nikon digital camera, Rayban sunglasses, a calculator and canvas bag from an unlocked vehicle.

Armed Robbery

March 18, 10:30 a.m.; 1900 block of Jaybrook Drive
A suspect described as a Hispanic male, 33-35 years of age, 180 pounds driving a tan Chevy Impala allegedly pointed a gun at a victim before taking a Kawasaki weed whacker, hedge trimmer and a blower.

Grand Theft Auto

March 18-19; Intersection of Thistlewood and Toscanini Drive
Someone stole a 1994 Honda Accord. The vehcile was later recovered but no suspect was named.

Grand Theft

March 20; 2500 block of Colt Road
An unknown person or persons took a lawnmower

Residential Burglary

March 23; 29600 block of North Wycliff Avenue
Someone burglarized a residence. Police did not provide any further information.

No arrests occurred during this period.

Petty Theft

March 18-19; Hitching Post Drive
Someone took an iPod, sunglasses, cell phone charger and a USB cable from an unlocked vehicle.

Residential Burglary

March 21-22; Shasta Vista Road
An unknown person or persons took unknown contents from a residence. No further information was provided.

Westfield

No arrests occurred during this period.

Petty Theft

March 18-19; 26700 block of Westvale Road
Someone took four different designer watches from an unlocked vehicle.

Rolling Hills

No crimes or arrests occurred during this period.
