Palos Verdes Crime: Stolen Booze, Pills, Pants

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and Palos Verdes Estates Police Department supplied this information on crime in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates, Rolling Hills, Westfield and Palos Verdes Estates.

The Palos Verdes Estates Police Department reported the following crimes and arrests in Palos Verdes Estates for the week spanning Sept. 10-16. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lomita Station reported the following crimes and arrests in Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates and Westfield for the week spanning Sept. 8-14. 

Palos Verdes Estates

Traffic offenses

Sept. 10, 9:20 a.m.; Intersection of Via Pacheco and Via Bandini
An officer conducting a welfare check on a motorist arrested the driver on suspicion of driving on a suspended license.

Sept. 12, 11:29 p.m.; 1400 block of Via Montemar
An officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver on suspicion of being an unlicensed driver and an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

Sept. 14, 8 a.m.; 2900 block of Paseo del Mar
An officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the operator on suspicion of being an unlicensed driver and on suspicion of a Fish and Game violation.

Sept. 14, 9:10 a.m.; 1500 block of Paseo del Mar
An officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the motorist on suspicion of being an unlicensed driver.

Residential burglary

Sept. 11, 4 p.m.; 1600 block of Via Ramon
A burglar entered a residence via the unlocked front French doors. The victim watched as the burglar picked up a jar of coins, then left without stealing anything. The burglar fled in a white truck with two other people.

Commercial burglary

Sept. 15, 5:42 a.m.; 2300 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
Two men broke the front window of a closed business with a small rock, then stole several bottles of alcohol. When neighbors saw them, the two burglars fled.

Theft

Sept. 12, 2:15 p.m.; 300 block of Palos Verdes Drive West
Someone used stolen debit card information to make a fraudulent purchase.

Theft from vehicle

Sept. 15, 9:10 a.m.; 300 block of Via Almar
Someone opened the door to an unlocked vehicle and stole a key to another vehicle from the glove compartment.

Vehicle theft

Sept. 15, 1:48 p.m.; 2500 block of Via Pinale
A burglar grabbed keys from a table in the courtyard and used them to steal a parked car from the driveway. The vehicle was later found in Glendale.

Driving under the influence

Sept. 13, 1 a.m.; 600 block of Palos Verdes Boulevard
An officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the motorist on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Sept. 13, 10:35 p.m.; 500 block of Palos Verdes Boulevard
An officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the motorist on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Rancho Palos Verdes

One arrest was made on suspicion of battery and a second arrest was made on suspicion of domestic violence.

Petty theft

Sept. 7-8; 2000 block of Jaybrook Drive
A Samsung cellphone, $20, a Graco carseat, miscellaneous papers and a DVD charger were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Sept. 10-12; 29500 block of Bernice Drive
An iPod Nano and its charger, a Garmin GPS and a pair of Rayban sunglasses were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Sept. 11-12; 31200 Ganado Drive
A Galaxy 4S cellphone was stolen from an unlocked vehicle. Two men were spotted running from the victim's driveway. They entered a brown, four-door Honda Civic and left. The first thief was described as an 18- to 25-year-old man standing about 5 feet 8 inches tall and wearing a gray hoodie and dark pants. The second thief was described as an 18- to 25-year-old man standing about 5 feet 6 inches tall and wearing a dark blue hoodie and dark pants.

Sept. 12-13; 2000 block of General Street
The vehicle registration, $300 and miscellaneous notes were stolen from an unlocked car.

Sept. 14; 30000 block of Hawthorne Boulevard
A beige purse, aqua Ferragamo wallet, California driver's license, Verizon cellphone, medical alert remote and $200 were stolen from a shopping cart.

Residential burglaries

Sept. 8; 5500 block of Ironwood Drive
Someone stood on a trashcan upside down and placed it under a bathroom window, then removed the screen and crawled into the home. A Toshiba laptop, a silver Tiffany bracelet with a heart, a Tommy Bahama watch with a red band and a black face, and a Bulova watch were stolen. Two suspicious people were spotted in the area.

Sept. 12; 28900 Crestridge Road
Deputies aren't sure what, if anything, was stolen from a home. There were no signs of forced entry.

Vehicle burglary

Sept. 8-9; 6300 block of Monero Drive
Police aren't sure how the burglar opened the vehicle because there were no signs of forced entry. At the time of the report, the loss was unknown.

Sept. 8-9; 6300 block of Monero Drive
There were no signs of forced entry; however, a garage remote, prescription eyeglasses and a brown men's shoulder bag were stolen from a vehicle.

Sept. 8; 4000 block of Palos Verdes Drive South
Someone smashed the passenger side window of a vehicle and stole ibuprofen tablets and an "inductive type meter."

Grand theft auto

Sept. 8-9; 6300 block of Monero Drive
A silver 2012 Ford Escape was stolen.

Sept. 10; 28100 block of Peacock Ridge Road
Someone stole a blue 2006 Suzuki GSXR750 motorcycle.

Sept. 11; 28100 block of Peacock Ridge Road
Someone stole a white and red 2007 Aprilia Tuono motorcycle.

Grand theft

Sept. 8-9; 2000 block Suana Drive
Someone stole a Smith & Wesson revolver.

Sept. 12-13; Terranea Way
A black Low Pro backpack containing a Canon camera, Canon lens, Tamaron lens and a USB cable were stolen from Terranea Resort.

Sept. 13; 100 block of La Vista Verde
A silver Tiffany bracelet, Kate Spade sunglasses, $150 in coins and a pair of women's pants were stolen from a vehicle parked in a driveway.

No crimes or arrests were reported.

Rolling Hills Estates

No arrests were reported.

Grand theft

Sept. 9; 700 block of Silver Spur Road
Someone stole a 15-inch Macbook Pro laptop.

Attempted burglary

Sept. 10; 100 block of Encanto Drive
Someone tried to enter the victims' living room through a closed patio door. The victims heard the would-be burglars and scared them off.

Westfield

No arrests were reported.

Grand theft auto

Sept. 11; 3600 block of Hidden Lane
Someone stole a red 2007 Harley Softtail custom motorcycle.
