Palos Verdes Estates Names First-Ever Deputy City Manager

Palos Verdes Estate's first-ever Deputy City Manager will help execute city policies and initiatives.

PALOS VERDES ESTATES, CA — The City of Palos Verdes Estates announced the city's first-ever Deputy City Manager.

George Gabriel will work alongside the City Manager and other department heads to help execute city policies and initiatives.

Most recently, Gabriel served as Assistant City Manager in Manhattan Beach, where he led efforts address homelessness, oversaw public safety responses and managed budgets for the Management Services Department. Gabriel also previously served the city of Malibu.

“I am humbled and honored to serve the City of Palos Verdes Estates,” said George Gabriel. “I thank City Manager Kerry Kallman and the City Council for entrusting me to serve and am excited to get to know the community, learn about the Palos Verdes Peninsula and get to work! Palos Verdes Estates is a dynamic City that has many opportunities to continue its rich history of providing high quality services to residents. I hope to continue to fulfill that expectation.”

As Deputy City Manager, Gabriel will lead the City Clerk's office and human resources, risk management and reception functions. He will also work to ensure city departments are strategically coordinating their efforts to align with citywide goals and projects.
