Trunk Or Treat Volunteers Sought By South Bay City
City officials said this is an opportunity to "make a difference to our little ghouls and goblins!"

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, CA — City officials are seeking volunteers to help host this year's trunk or treat in Rancho Palos Verdes.
This year's event takes place Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Ken Dyda Civic Center.
"Trunk or Treats main attraction is the decorated trunks where volunteers hand out candy and/or prizes to kids, city officials said in a statement Friday. "This is a great opportunity for small to medium size groups to earn some extra service hours and make a difference to our little ghouls and goblins!"

Anyone willing to provide their car's trunk for the event will need to come up with a theme, such as that from a show, movie or anything "spooky," according to city officials.
Gore, violence, political statements or religious themes will not be allowed, officials said.

While costumes aren't mandatory, it is recommended people who participate wear one. Volunteers will also have to bring enough candy or prizes for a large-scale event, city officials said.
All candy must be sealed and home-made goods are not permitted, they added.
City officials recommend that volunteers arrive as early as 8:30 a.m. to decorate their trunks. Trunks must be fully decorated. by 10:30 a.m. and ready to leave the civic center by 2:30 p.m. for safety reasons, according to officials.
