Maranatha High School Launches Healthy Cafeteria Menu
The Pasadena private school has a new chef and students are reportedly raving about the new healthy food options.

A new healthy menu from a chef who uses locally sourced ingredients has students buzzing at Maranatha High School, the Pasadena Star-News reports.
Chef Jason Francisco has gradually replaced the school's frozen food offerings in favor of locally grown, healthier fare and students have responded positively to the new menu.
"Students quickly took a liking to the fresher offerings, noticing bigger, juicier burgers and making the bacon mac and cheese a lunch favorite," the paper reports. "Francisco said he specifically cut down on sodium, making his own sauces and ordering ingredients straight from farms within five hours of Pasadena."
