The Weeknd Cancels Rose Bowl Concert, Pushes Album Release Due To Wildfires

PASADENA, CA — The Weeknd canceled his upcoming concert and pushed back his album release "out of respect and concern" for wildfire victims.
The Jan. 25 concert at the Rose Bowl was slated to coincide with the scheduled Jan. 24 release of his new album, "Hurry Up Tomorrow." The one-night-only show sold out in less than an hour in December.
The Grammy award-winning artist, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, announced he was canceling the concert Monday on social media.

"The city has always been a profound source of inspiration for me, and my thoughts are with everyone impacted during this difficult time," he said.
The Weeknd said he would also delay the release of his album until Jan. 31.

"My focus remains on supporting the recovery of these communities and aiding its incredible people as they rebuild," he said.
Concert ticket refunds will be issued automatically for tickets purchased through Ticketmaster, according to the singer's website. Fans who purchased tickets from a third-party reseller should reach out to their point of purchase.
