2 Dead In Sonoma County Plane Crash

Police urged the public to avoid the area following the crash.

PETALUMA, CA -- Two people died Sunday afternoon after a small plane attempted to land at the Petaluma Municipal Airport.

Officials said the two died, but didn't immediately identify them.

The crash happened in the area of E. Washington Street between Adobe Road and Executive Drive shortly after 4 p.m.

The roadways were blocked in the area following the crash with officials urging the public to avoid the area.
