'Machine Gun,' Drugs Seized During Sonoma County Operations: Police

Investigators said an Uzi and two fully automatic "Glock switches" were seized while executing a search warrant.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — An Uzi and two fully-automatic Glock switches were among a cache of guns and drugs seized during several recent investigations in Sonoma County, the sheriff's office said Tuesday.

Officials said detectives from the narcotics and property crimes units worked with patrol deputies on two search warrants and two traffic stops on Thursday and Friday.

According to the sheriff's office, the first search warrant recovered five guns, four ounces of methamphetamine, fentanyl pills and other drugs in Windsor. Investigators determined two of the guns were stolen and identified Craig Jones as a suspect in the case. He was arrested on suspicion of multiple drug and weapon-related crimes.

Later in the day, a Windsor deputy pulled over a car in Santa Rosa and discovered a half-pound of methamphetamine inside, officials said. Narcotics detectives took over the case and identified two suspects. Cameron-Chaddock Jones, of Santa Rosa, was arrested on suspicion of driving on a suspended license. Gloria Avila, also of Santa Rosa, was arrested on suspicion of multiple drug charges.

The next morning, the sheriff's office said, a K9 team pulled over a car in Rohnert Park and seized two ounces of methamphetamine. Investigators identified the suspects as Justin Longo, of Dixon, and Asia Gordon, of Rohnert Park. Longo was booked into jail on suspicion of multiple drug crimes and a parole violation, and Gordon was arrested on an outstanding bench warrant.

Later, Sonoma County detectives executed a search warrant at a home in Vacaville. There, investigators allege, authorities seized an Uzi, two Glock switches, a disassembled AK-47, a disassembled Colt .45, and gun manufacturing equipment. According to the sheriff's office, detectives also recovered three gallons of Dimethyltryptamine (DMT), six ounces of methamphetamine, and other narcotics.

Authorities identified the suspect as Christian Moreno, of Vacaville. He was arrested on suspicion of violating the terms of his release in another case out of Sonoma County, along with new alleged drug and weapons crimes. He remained in custody Tuesday in lieu of $250,000 bail.

"Our detectives and deputies worked closely to find and remove these items from our community," the sheriff's office said. "We remain committed to keeping Sonoma County safe by arresting the people who choose to have illegal guns and sell drugs in our community."
